Hisoka comes across as quite the jerk. He seems very self confident, almost cocky and more than a little grumpy when you first meet him. He has a very dry sense of humor and often makes jokes about things that don't really seem like he's joking. However, if you can tough out his general demeanor, he'll start to warm up to you, and that's when his more favorable traits come out. Hisoka is protective of those he cares about, and is, in fact, quite the mom friend. He loves taking care of people, he just doesn't want anyone to know that and so he comes across as snippy and sarcastic all the while making sure you've eaten and that you've taken any meds you need to. The only people who don't ever see the snippy side of him are kids. When around children, Hisoka is calm, friendly and always has a smile on his face. For everyone else though, a smirk and a nod is all you get if you're lucky.
Likes: Rain, making toys, bitter coffee, mystery novels, bubblegum pop music, pastels, fixing things, socks, lollipops, wearing matching outfits with people, eating other people's fries, sweet smelling things, that non-committed run birds do when they aren't sure if they want to fly or not, making noise with his crutches, skiing.
Dislikes:DOGS( legit even the smallest dog scares him very, very bad), super sour things, people staring at his scars/missing parts, people who touch his hair without asking, folks misunderstanding his sarcasm, hot tea, polka music.
Job: Toy maker
Hisoka lost his leg to illness when he was about four years old and thus he doesn't really remember life with it. In fact the only things he remembers from that young were the very boring hospital visits and how grateful he was to get to leave. As a child, he was able to run with his crutches and perfectly able to keep up with his siblings, adapting to life his own way. When he was about eleven Hisoka climbed into someone's yard trying to get a ball that his friends accidentally threw over the fence without bothering the kindly owner of the house. What Hisoka forgot was that the old woman had a rather vicious devil dog that was highly territorial. Hisoka lost two fingers on his right hand and gained more than a few wounds before the woman got her dog under control.
After that the boy was a lot more cautious. He refused to venture as far into the woods and took out his anger at the dog by scaring his siblings into sharing his terror of them. However he still always had a brotherly heart that gave him a desire to protect and care for those who need it. Because of this, Hisoka visited the hospital quite a bit, even when he didn't need to, to help the kids going through difficult and long hospital stints. It was these visits that actually inspired him to become a toy maker, starting with little paper crafts and eventually working his way through just about any toy that he could think they might want that he could make. And now he's often seen at visits bringing in little crafts for the kids; candy beads to make necklaces, origami paper and other little gifts that just might brighten someone's day.
Hisoka's claws are actually filed down, so as to not scratch people.
Hisoka has no impulse control when it comes to yarn, birds or laser pointers. This has gotten him into embarrassing situations more than once.
He has no pinky finger and only about a third of his ring finger is still on his right hand.
