Pain. Pain and heat were all she felt at that moment. She knew it was her own fault, he told her this would be a hard, and dangerous process. Humans always had a hard time becoming bonded to their stones, but she was taking a risk far greater, becoming integrated. He had told her that humans often would try to steal stones and that most rarely notice, so he had told her he could make it so that could never happen, that he would never leave, and that it would hurt.
What he hadn't told her was just how badly fusing his mental imprint to hers would hurt. It felt like her brain was melting and that her skin was on fire, not the best thing to feel somewhere underground in the middle of what used to be Nevada. “ I'm so sorry My Aria. Once your fever brakes it will get better.” She knew he felt bad, it was as much of a part of her as it was him, he was in her mind as much as she was now in his. He places a cold cloth over her forehead, how he got it she wouldn't question, it made the pain dull and her eyes less blurry.
“ M-my f-fault...” Words hurt, everything hurt. “ No, I was wrong. It was cruel of me to ask you to do this while you were undernourished. My poor poor aria.” He kissed her head, he felt cool, he was always cool, which was odd. She knew that he wasn't technically there, a figment that was real for her but no one else. She saw him walk and move and talk. She could feel his cold hand in her's and his tender care. “Alex, how do you know all this?” “ You and I are very different Gloria, and my differences are what I use to help you, as they say don't look a gift horse in the mouth.” He smiled looking down at her, he looked a tad irritated but compassionate no the less.
It took days in that hallow in the ground, days of sweat and pain and heat. And after those days she and he were connected, she found if she moved to far from him she'd feel it, a need to destroy anyone to get to him, a buzz in her brain that told her where he was and if he was safe. She could see him always, as if he was right beside her, and the softer his voice the farther away he was. She and he were no longer just one and one but two parts of a symbiotic relationship that would guide her life forever. She was now as much a part of his world as he was her's, he gave her power and she wouldn't stop until she returned the favor.
